To help you keep your budget on track, we\u2019ve thrown ourselves down the virtual rabbit hole and dug up the internet\u2019s best wallet-friendly Easter tips.<\/strong>\u00a0Here they are:<\/p>\n

\"Photo<\/a>1) Decorating and crafts: take stock of what you\u2019ve already got and search up what you can do with it!<\/h2>\n

Pom poms and bunting, an old hat you can glam into an Easter bonnet, a punnet of carrots\u00a0flower arrangement (photo credit: David A Land)\u2026<\/p>\n

Get creative with Easter-themed crafts such as egg colouring or dyeing, decorating baskets, and drawing Easter cards. With a few key strikes in Google or YouTube, there\u2019s no shortage of eggcellent, inexpensive ideas to show your Easter spirit!<\/p>\n

2) Free and low cost community activities<\/h2>\n

Take advantage of the plethora of shopping centres trying to get you through their doors and schedule in those activities for the kids.<\/p>\n

Typically, this time of year, you can find an egg painting or scavenger hunt pop-up at every major mall. Check in the little ones and *bonus* buy yourself some free time.<\/p>\n

3) Watch out for deals at your local grocers and op shops<\/h2>\n

While you\u2019re out, how about hitting your go-to op shops, grocers, dollar stores and big retailers like Kmart or Target to hunt for deals on Easter decorations, chocolates and activities for the family.<\/p>\n

4) Hosting Easter Lunch?<\/h2>\n

If you\u2019re hosting – have everyone bring an Easter-themed dish (think marshmallow bunny tails or carrots and dips).<\/p>\n

Otherwise, get in the kitchen and DIY Easter treats like rabbit cookies or cupcakes. Getting the kids in on the action can be a fun way to spend an afternoon.<\/p>\n

5) Organise a scavenger hunt<\/h2>\n

An Easter hunt in the backyard or at a local park can be good, wholesome fun for your family and friends. Hide plastic eggs filled with candy, small toys and stickers or little surprise gifts for your guests\u2026 Let the scavenging begin!<\/p>\n

6) Egg dyeing<\/h2>\n

Dyeing eggs is a classic Easter activity. You can purchase a dyeing kit at your local dollar store, make your own with food colouring and vinegar, or use natural dyes like cabbage or \u00a0plants.<\/p>\n

7) Go outdoors<\/h2>\n

Make the most of this stretch of sunshine before the Winter season and plant a garden. But if flowers or herbs are not your thing, go for a bike ride, picnic, or hike. You can also plan a family outing to a nearby park or nature reserve.<\/p>\n

8) Binge on your favourite Easter movies<\/h2>\n

Grab a tub of popcorn and gather around the TV to watch some Easter classics like “Hop,” “Rise of the Guardians,” \u201cPeter Rabbit\u201d or “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown!”<\/p>\n
